Emeritus Information

Emeritus Membership is a status awarded by NEAIR to a member meeting the following criteria:

 
  • The member must be retired. A member shall be considered to have retired when she/he has formally terminated her/his regular professional employment through retirement. Subsequent part-time employment shall not affect eligibility.
     
  • An Emeritus Member shall have been an active member of the Association for a minimum cumulative total of seven years before being considered for Emeritus Status.
     
  • Emeritus members shall receive all rights and privileges of regular membership except the right to vote or hold elective office. Emeritus members shall not be assessed membership dues.


Emeritus applications may be submitted at any time during the year; however, forms received by June 1st of any given year will be reviewed for approval and announced at that year's Annual Conference.

After a vote by the Steering Committee, new emeritus members shall be announced at the Annual Conference.  Emeritus Status shall be awarded for the lifetime of the member.
