NEAIR "Best" Awards Information

BEST PAPER AWARD

Instituted in 1988 to recognize and promote quality contributions to scholarly research and writing among professionals who contribute and present papers at the annual NEAIR conference.

BEST FIRST PAPER AWARD

Established in 1998 to encourage and recognize new NEAIR conference presenters who demonstrate commendable research in their first scholarly papers.

BEST IR/PRACTITIONER REPORT AWARD

Created in 2005 to recognize the many reports and practitioner papers that are written by NEAIR members. This award is intended as a venue for those reports and presentations that are not necessarily suited for submission to the Best Paper Award, which tends to include more scholarly research.

AWARD RECOGNITION

  • Winners are published in the Proceedings of the conference and identified as an Award winner.

  • Receive a $200 award

  • Receive a waiver for the following year’s NEAIR conference registration fee. The monetary award and fee waiver are split among authors if there is more than one on the paper.

  • A letter of notification and congratulations from the President of NEAIR will be sent to the winners with their President or head of the organization and the immediate supervisor copied on the correspondence.

  • The winners are formally announced at the following NEAIR Annual Conference and offered a presentation opportunity in the conference program.

NEAIR Best Paper Award recipient is also invited to present the paper at the AIR Forum Best Regional Papers session. The author is not obligated to accept the AIR invitation, and neither AIR nor NEAIR contribute funding for AIR Forum attendance.
