NEAIR Leadership & Volunteer Opportunities

 

NEAIR has multiple avenues for volunteer opportunities. We welcome the contributions of all members and make every effort to make use of members’ talents in ways that are mutually beneficial to the member and the association.  For more information about specific committee roles, please contact the current committee chair or Beth Simpson at neair@neair.org

Service Opportunities

Finance Committee – need two committee member (3 YR Term) No travel involved. NEAIR membership required; conference attendance not required. 

Job description – attend quarterly finance committee teleconference meetings, do research as needed, review budget and advise, review finance webpages.

Local Arrangement Coordinators for 2017 conference (11 month term Jan – November 2017).  NEAIR Membership required.  Conference attendance required.

Job description – help as needed before and during the conference.  Work may include creating name badges, meal tickets, helping at conference registration desk, dinner group coordinator, and conference web pages.  

Program Committee (3 YR Term)

Best paper reviewers – review papers for the 2017 Best Paper Award, announce best award winners during the Annual Business Lunch. No travel involved. NEAIR membership required; conference attendance not required but preferred.

Newcomer Workshop Presenter – collaborate with the other Newcomer Workshop presenters.  Co-present the Newcomer Workshop at the NEAIR conference (Sat PM/Sun AM) and during the summer PDS workshop (full day), possibly mentor a newcomer, and possibly lead a newcomer dinner group.  NEAIR membership required; conference attendance not required but preferred; presentation at PDS summer workshop to be determined by the three Newcomer Workshop presenters.  Honorarium of $250.

Technology Committee – need two committee members (3 YR Term)  No travel involved. NEAIR membership required; conference attendance not required.

Job description – attend quarterly technology teleconference meetings, help migrate documents to new website, review and maintain website, research and advise on technology updates and new software pursuits.

ad hoc Web Site Migration (four month term - January – April 2017 )  NEAIR membership required. 

Job description – help download pdf documents from YourMembership.com and upload and link documents into MemberLeaps.com, learn software platform, help create forms and provide other technical support.  Job Skill Requirement: facile and comfortable with learning new software platforms.
