Memorial Conference Grant Criteria for Selection
Share |

Proposals are evaluated and awarded based on the following criteria.

Opportunity: The proposal should detail concrete examples of how the applicant will benefit from attending the annual conference. Preference will be given to applicants who have not been able to recently attend regional or national IR conferences.

Participation: Applicants should thoughtfully discuss their planned participation at the NEAIR conference to demonstrate how the grant monies will be used for professional development (e.g., workshop attendance, volunteer work, mentoring, presenting, and/or conducting a workshop, etc.).

Benefit to NEAIR: The proposal should include a thoughtful discussion of how the applicant plans to use her/his time at the conference and how that, in turn, benefits the NEAIR community (e.g., volunteer work, mentoring, presenting, conducting a workshop, etc.).

Financial Need: Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need, and would not be able to attend the conference if it were not for the financial support of the grant.

Institutional Resources: Preference will be given to applicants from institutions that either do not, or that severely limit support for travel.

Membership: Length of membership in NEAIR will be considered. All applicants must be a current member.

Primary Responsibilities: Preference will be given to applicants  whose majority of work responsibilities involve institutional research or institutional effectiveness activities.

Institution Type: Funds will be awarded to members from different sectors where at all possible.
