IR and Accreditation: Leveraging for Sustainable Assessment - A joint workshop sponsored by NEASC and NEAIR......... $50
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the
North East Association for Institutional Research (NEAIR) are joining
together to offer an afternoon workshop focusing on creating and
sustaining institutional effectiveness and learning outcomes assessment.
This workshop will provide both administrators and faculty with tools
and approaches for embedding assessment into the fabric of their
institution. Charles Blaich, Director of the Center of Inquiry at Wabash
College and the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium will ground
the workshop in the theory and practice of assessment focusing on
transition from a gathering evidence approach to using evidence to
inform planning, budgeting and curricular improvements.
Participants will then engage in a variety of guided discussions and
activities. Through discussion and introspection, participants will be
able to evaluate their current culture of assessment, identify
opportunities for improvement in incorporating assessment into
administrative and curricular activities, and suggest approaches for
moving their institution to the next level.
The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday December 6th from 12:30 -3:00 PM with a box lunch included
at the Boston Park Plaza hotel – a short walk from the NEASC Conference
hotel, Fairmont Copley Plaza. The cost of the workshop is $50 per
person. Specific registration information will be forthcoming. For
