This presentation will review the diverse array of factors at the federal, state, and institutional levels that are likely to converge in the coming decade, and their potential negative impact on underserved populations. The presentation concludes with details of a proposed public-private partnership involving the federal government, states, colleges and universities, students and parents, and the private sector that is designed to counter the convergence of these trends.
Mr. Merisotis is recognized as a leading authority on college and university financing, particularly student financial aid, and has published major studies and reports on topics ranging from higher education ranking systems to technology-based learning. |

Many institutions today are undergoing transformation of their student body and curriculum. Dr. McGuire will discuss how good data and analysis play a crucial role in helping institutions through the change process, and in tracking institutional performance and assessment.
Dr. McGuire has been president of Trinity University since 1989 and writes and speaks on a wide variety of topics concerning higher education, women and Catholic education. Her articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Current Issues in Catholic Higher Education, and a wide variety of other publications. |
