Conference Proceedings

For consideration in the Conference Proceedings, all papers must conform to the specifications outlined in the 2006 Conference Proceedings Guidelines. There are two ways to submit a paper for the proceedings:

1. In person at the Annual Conference
You may submit your paper on a CD, along with three hard copies of the paper – one original and two high-quality copies – prepared according to the guidelines. There will be a box on the conference registration desk for your submission.

2. Via Email
Please send to cja2@cornell.edu no later than 5 p.m. three days after the Annual Conference. Use Microsoft Word (or translatable) software, preferably in PC format.

If you have any questions, please contact the 2006 NEAIR Publications Chair, Catherine Alvord at cja2@cornell.edu.

Best Paper Awards & Best First Paper Awards

For Best Paper Award consideration, please follow 2006 Best Paper and Best First Paper Awards Guidelines. The NEAIR Best Paper Award was instituted to recognize and promote quality contributions to scholarly research among professionals who contribute and present papers at the annual NEAIR conference. The NEAIR Best First Paper Award was established to encourage and recognize new NEAIR conference presenters who demonstrate commendable research in their first scholarly papers.

Recipient(s) of the Best Paper Award will have his/her paper published in the Conference Proceedings, in addition to receiving: a $200 award; a waiver of the next year's NEAIR conference registration fee; a letter of congratulations from the President of NEAIR; and an automatic offer for a presentation time in the next year's conference program. The NEAIR Best Paper Award recipient is also invited to present the paper at AIR's Best Regional Papers session.

If you have questions, please contact the 2006 Best Paper Coordinator, Marilyn Blaustein at blaustein@oirp.umass.edu .

Best IR Report or Practitioner Paper Award

To be considered for the Best IR Report or Practitioner Paper Award, please submit your presentation according to the 2006 Best IR Report or Practitioner Paper Guidelines. The Best IR Report or Practitioner Paper Award is an opportunity to recognize the more practical work often presented by IR professionals. We encourage conference presenters to consider submission for this award. The Best IR Report or Practitioner Paper Award will be commensurate to the Best Paper Awards.

Best Visual Presentation Award

As a way to acknowledge contributions made through the Poster session, all posters will be considered for the Best Visual Presentation Award. Guidelines for the award outline the criteria that will be applied when selecting the Best Visual Presentation.  The winning poster will be selected just prior to the Data-with-a-Twist reception. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate and the winning poster will be placed on display Tuesday at the Conference Registration table. We are pleased to be able to offer a venue for recognition of work presented in a Poster format.
