New Jersey Devils vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Looking for something different to do on Monday night at NEAIR in New Brunswick ?
Spend the evening taking in an NHL game as the hometown New Jersey Devils take on Atlantic division foes, the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins, in their brand new arena, the Prudential Center in downtown Newark , NJ . The new Prudential Center , aka “The Rock” is a state of the art arena located in the heart of Newark's business district adjacent to the Newark Penn Train Station and Prudential Financial Inc's worldwide headquarters. Three time Stanley Cup Champion, three-time Vezina Trophy winner, four-time Jennings Trophy winner, Olympic Gold Medalist and nine-time NHL All Star Goalie Martin Brodeur leads his perennial contender Devils against the 2005 number one draft pick, 2007 Hart Trophy winner, 2007 Art Ross Trophy winner, 2007 Pearson Award winner and NHL All Star Sidney Crosby and his red hot Penguins. Last season these two teams finished atop the Atlantic Division just 2 points apart; the rivalry is sure be intense this year. Come see these future Hall of Famers square off. Game time is 7:00 PM.
Local Arrangements Committee (LAC) volunteers Mark Palladino & Chris Choncek will help members get to the train station and buy a NJ Transit ticket to Newark Penn Station. The train is four blocks from the Hyatt and a round trip ticket is $12.25. The ride to Newark is approximately 35 minutes.
Tickets for the game, which go on sale October 12th, can be purchased on an individual basis and range from $20-$115. Group ticket purchase arrangements can be made if interested NEAIR members respond early enough. With 20 interested members, we can purchase $65 tickets for $45. If you are interested in going to the game as a group, please send an email to Mark Palladino at palladinom@philau.edu ASAP. If we make the minimum of 20 interested members, we will contact everyone to confirm the group ticket purchase.
