HOTEL & TRANSPORTATION
TRAIN?
The
Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak Station is approximately 35 miles from The
Saratoga Hotel & Conference Center in Saratoga Springs.
Note: While there is a
train that connects from Albany to Saratoga, it's schedule is not as regular
as those going to Albany/Rensselaer and it appears to take longer than
arriving in Albany and taking a shuttle or cab. Additionally, the location
of the Saratoga train station would still require additional transportation
to the hotel and it is unclear how often cabs visit the train station.
SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM TRAIN STATION:
For those of your traveling from
the Rensselaer Train Station, a
shuttle service, R-A-R Transportation, will provide transportation on a
space available basis. Contact R-A-R Transportation at (518)
743-1257 by November 1, 2005 to make reservations (the cost is $65 one way
for one person; $85 one way for two people).
DRIVING
FROM THE
ALBANY/RENSSELAER TRAIN STATION:
Exit the AMTRAK Train Station and turn left. Follow to the intersection with
the traffic light at the Stewart's store and turn left. Go one (1) block and
turn left, following signs to Albany. Turn right and cross the Hudson River.
Take I-787 North to Troy. Then take Route 7 West to the Adirondack Northway
(I-87) and follow to Exit 15 (Saratoga Springs). Turn left off the Exit. At
the 5th traffic light, turn left onto Rock Street. At the stop sign,
turn right onto Maple Avenue. The Saratoga Hotel parking lot will be on your
right.
DRIVING FROM THE SARATOGA HOTEL TO THE ALBANY/RENSSELAER TRAIN
STATION:
Take a left out of The Saratoga Hotel parking lot onto Maple Street. Turn left onto
Rock Street (at the Old Bryan Inn), then turn right onto Route 50. Go
through 3 traffic lights and look for the signs for the Adirondack Northway
(I-87 South). Take I-87 South to Exit 7. Take Route 7-East for 3 miles. Take
I-787 South to Albany. Take exit for Empire State Plaza. On exit ramp bear
left (follow signs to Rensselaer). After crossing the Hudson River, bear
right on exit ramp. At end of exit ramp, turn left. Go one block and turn
right. Follow signs to Amtrak Station on your right.
